Cierra and Chafaye grew up watching Hocus Pocus and Practical Magic together and to this day they still love the films. The other week the girls found a painting that was inspired by the sisters in Practical Magic and it gave them the idea to do their own themed photo shoot. Cierra reached out to me to see if I would be game to shoot their concept and I was so excited that she asked. I always love hanging out with Cierra, but this shoot was different. It inspired me to leave my comfort zone and to delve deep and truly get creative. Fueled by chai tea and ambient creepy music that I found on Youtube I had a blast both shooting this session and editing it.
The girls put so much thought into their outfits along with their hair and makeup and they looked absolutely flawless. They even brought along a few props which helped to set the scene for the tale of two sisters, the good witch and the bad witch. The session follows them as they try to find their path in life and though they both found the darkness for a time, in due time they eventually found the light.
“True magic is neither black nor white. It’s both because nature is both. Loving and cruel all at the same time. The only good or bad is in the heart of the witch. Life keeps a balance on it’s own.” – The Craft
